I have this book called Diary of a Mad Mom to Be. It's a really funny fictional book about this lady and her journey through pregnancy. Well, in this book, one of the first signs of her pregnancy was "dog nose" – the ability to smell anything and everything from 50 feet away. I have that with this pregnancy.
I have no problem smelling what people are eating for lunch (especially if it includes ketchup), and I know immediately if Mara has pooped in her pull-up even if I'm across the room. And once I catch a whiff of something, it stays with me for a while.
I don't remember if I went through this with Mara or not, but it is definitely a different experience. At least I don't have morning/all day sickness (yet); otherwise, that would make it much worse.
