Children's Aquarium

We went to the Children's Aquarium at Fair Park with Shari and Allie this morning. It's a really neat small aquarium. The kids loved the touch tank right inside the front doors where they got to touch things like horseshoe crabs, but Mara's favorite part was the stingray touch tank. Before going, Mara was excited to see the cuttlefish that they advertise on their website, so she was disappointed to find out they didn't have it anymore. It was still a good visit, and we'll definitely be going back – especially since we'll get discounts on the tickets after we get our Dallas Zoo season passes.

Getting messy

Monday, February 20

After having sleepovers the past two nights, Mara slept in her own bed tonight. I think she was glad to be there.

Tuesday, February 21

I found some Valentine's on clearance today, and the best part is that the pencils and erasers that come with them can be used for goody bags for Mara's birthday party next month. Where else can you find 16 pencils or erasers for 61 cents?

Wednesday, February 22

Mara asked for Golden Chick for dinner, so that's where we went. Every time we go, the kids want to try to get a golden egg from the chicken.

Thursday, February 23

We still haven't figured out if Jack is going to be a lefty or a righty, but it seems like he favors his left hand a little more when drawing and coloring.

Friday, February 24

We went to Chili's for dinner tonight. Jack really enjoyed the chips and salsa as well as the corn on the cob.

Saturday, February 25

Mara attended a birthday party for her friends Brooke and Kali today. She got to paint a dolphin for her room.

Cheesing for the Camera

Wednesday, February 15

Jack was cheesing for the camera tonight, so we took some pictures to use for his birthday party invitations.

Thursday, February 16

Our troop earned a Cici's gift card as a reward for having the best booth at Thinking Day, so we took the meeting off and met for dinner. The girls also received patches that they've earned over the last few months.

Friday, February 17

Jack got an Oreo ice cream sandwich for dessert tonight, but he didn't know what to think of it because it was so cold. On the way home, Mara was being silly and taking self-portraits.

Saturday, February 18

Recently, Jack has decided that he doesn't want to sit in a high chair anymore, so we let him sit in the booth when we went to McDonald's today.

Sunday, February 19

Jack spent most of the evening working on puzzles. I guess it's time we pull out Mara's old puzzles.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I took the afternoon off so I could go help out Mara's Valentine's party at school. They made thumbprint bookmarks and passed out their Valentine's.

I couldn't make it to Jack's party too, but I left the camera with his teachers. They captured some cute pictures of him decorating his cupcakes.

For dinner, we headed out to Red Robin where the kids could eat for $1. The neatest thing about the evening is that Jack started playing with another little girl while we were waiting to be seated, and come to find out, she's turning 2 on March 9 as well. Then, a set of twins started playing with Jack and the girl, and I found out they are going to be 2 toward the end of April. So, it ended up being a gathering of almost 2-year-olds in the waiting area of Red Robin.
