Creature Report

Monday, January 30

When Disney Junior started advertising its new show the Octonaughts, I knew that Mara would love it because it focuses on sea animals. Even though she wasn't all that interested at first, it has quickly become one of her favorite shows, and she asks to watch it all the time. Jack really likes it too.

Tuesday, January 31

While Mara can't stand corn, Jack loves it. He was so excited that we served it with dinner tonight.

They're wearing me (and themselves) out!

Monday, January 23

Jack was so tired tonight, but he refused to lay down. Instead, he ended up falling asleep standing up beside the couch.

Tuesday, January 24

See Tuesday's post here.

Wednesday, January 25

We made baked potato soup for dinner tonight, and Jack had no problem eating it by himself.

Thursday, January 26

Mara's science fair project won honorable mention for her grade.

Friday, January 27

Jack and Granddad played on my Nook Color after dinner tonight. Jack loves to listen to stories on it. I also got a couple of good pictures of my dad and Jack as well as Mara and John.

Saturday, January 28

We spent another Saturday finishing up our booth for Thinking Day in a couple of weeks. The girls are pretty proud of the work they've accomplished.

Sunday, January 29

Jack looks so innocent when he sleeps, but we know better. :)

Field Trip!

I volunteered to go with Mara's class on a field trip this morning. They went to the school district's outdoor learning center where they learned how soil is made and they took a nature hike. I got to ride beside Mara on the bus on the way there and back.

Keeping Busy

Tuesday, January 17

Mara received a lot of new patches recently, so I put them on her uniform tonight. There's not a lot of room left, but she be getting her new Brownie uniform when she bridges in May.

Wednesday, January 18

With the science fair next week, Mara is working hard to finish all of the reports and data that need to accompany it.

Thursday, January 19

We finished her project board tonight, and it's ready to go to school in the morning.

Friday, January 20

We enjoyed a nice, relaxing dinner at Dickey's tonight, and Jack appreciated the free ice cream they offer. It was a good way to honor my mom's birthday.

Saturday, January 21

With Girl Scout Thinking Day quickly approaching, the girls spent a couple of hours this afternoon working on our booth.

Sunday, January 22

The weather was really nice today, so we took the opportunity to spend some time outside.

Web the Bear

We had a visitor in our house this weekend. On Friday, Mara came home with Web (WeekEnd Bear). He's her classroom's bear that visits a different student each weekend. She's supposed to take him around with her and then document what they did over the weekend. She got to keep him an extra day since there's no school on Monday.

Friday, January 13

We ate at Steak and Shake tonight, and Web got his own hat.

Saturday, January 14

Mara and I went to the annual Girl Scout Polar Bear swim. Web stayed in the car because Mara didn't want him to get wet, but he still had some fun with her goggles. Afterward, we put together one of Mara's new Lego Friends sets.

Sunday, January 15

We conducted more experiments for Mara's science fair project. We also went to a two-year-old's birthday party. (Web stayed in the car again.)

Monday, January 16

After spending the night at Diane's last night and the morning with Granddad, Mara and Web spent the afternoon at work with me.
