Happy Halloween 2012!

Jack wore his costume to school today, and I got some pictures of our Mickey Mouse with his friends and teacher.

Since Halloween was on a school night this year, we went around our own neighborhood with Mara's friend Savanna. The kids stayed out later than we intended, but they had a lot of fun.

Buttered Up

Monday, October 29

We went to Cotton Patch for dinner tonight, and Jack insisted on cutting and buttering his own rolls.

Tuesday, October 30

We watched Taylor Swift perform on Dancing with the Stars tonight. Mara loves her new album and was singing along with her song.

Monday, October 22

Today was the last day of Mara's fall break. She helped me take Jack to school this morning and got to see a lot of her friends from her summer daycare. She also went to a Girl Scout leader meeting with me to help her troop announce our Thinking Day event.

Since it was nice out, the kids played outside for a few minutes tonight while we got dinner ready.

We celebrated Mikey's 10th birthday today with dinner and cupcakes.

Friday, October 26

When we stopped by Walmart tonight to pick up a couple of things, the kids saw the Skylanders display, so we got some pictures of them pretending to be Bouncer.

Saturday, October 27

Before Mara's soccer game and Trunk or Treating, we went to Toys R Us to participate in a Lego build. The kids had fun creating things with the Legos.

Sunday, October 28

Jack tried to go this weekend without a nap, but it didn't work out too well since he crashed around 6 tonight.

Trunk or Treating

We went to the church's annual Trunk or Treating tonight. There didn't seem to be as many people this year, but that's probably because it was on a Saturday night this year. The kids still had fun going around to all of the cars, and they even had time to enjoy the bounce houses too.

"Please, I want Christmas, please."

The other day, Jack came up to me and said, "Please, I want Christmas, please." I was confused at first. I told him that it's not Christmas yet, but he kept asking for it. Then, I remembered we had the sugar cookie flavor from Pop Tarts holiday line, and that's what he was asking for.

Giant of a Game

Last year for Christmas, we got the Skylanders game for the Xbox. It was a big hit, and for the past 10 months, we've been trying to collect all of the characters in the game. Jack even likes to play with the figures. Today, they release the second game, Skylanders Giants. We got it as a belated birthday present for John, and he and Mara went home and immediately started playing it.
