Happy Halloween!

We spent Halloween at Mike & Myra's. One of Myra's friends curled Mara's hair to go with her costume, and then some of the kids went to a fall festival where they got their faces painted. After we went Trick or Treating, we celebrated Mike & Mikey's birthdays. It was a fun but long day. :)

Halloween at school & carving pumpkins

Mara wore her Halloween costume to school today. Instead of going around and trick or treating at the different classrooms, the older kids went to the gym to watch a magic show. All of the kids had a lot of fun running around and playing with the bubbles. That evening, we went up to Mike & Myra's to carve pumpkins.

Monday, October 26

We went ahead and set up a registry for this pregnancy just to help us remember what we would need for this baby. It didn't hurt that we got a bunch of free stuff as well as coupons and a $5 gift card just for creating a registry. :)

Tuesday, October 27

Doxy is definitely Mara's kitty. She will let Mara do a lot to her and doesn't move. She will tell Mara when she's done with the loving, though. Doxy likes to sleep with Mara as well.

Wednesday, October 28

John finally got his car back and it's all fixed up. They even washed and vacuumed the entire car.

Thursday, October 29

We made our baked potato soup for dinner tonight. I think I might have featured this soup before, but this was the first time we used bread bowls from Wal-Mart. It was a very yummy dinner for a cool fall evening.

Back to normal

Thankfully, this week was finally been back to normal with one minor exception on Wednesday. :)

Monday, October 19

On Monday nights, we like to watch Dancing with the Stars on ABC. It was nice to be able to relax and watch it tonight.

Tuesday, October 20

Mara has a nightly ritual of getting a cup of chocolate milk before going to bed.

Wednesday, October 21

Mara was supposed to go on a field trip to a pumpkin patch with her class today, but it got rained out. That same rain led to a bird trying to seek refuge in our house later that evening. Little did the bird know that he picked the wrong house as he has four cats chasing him all over the place. We were finally able to get him outside with Brownie's help.

Thursday, October 22

John finally got his car in to be fixed, so he's driving around a rental for now. It's a Toyota Corolla and has reassured John that he does not want to own a Toyota.

Friday, October 23

In addition to having our big ultrasound today (click here for picture), Mara's class finally got to go on its field trip to a pumpkin patch, and we went to visit PJ and Precious' little girl, Ruby, who was born yesterday.

Saturday, October 24

Mara decided she wanted to paint her toenails herself tonight. She did a pretty good job with it.

Sunday, October 25

We went to the Custer Road UMC pumpkin patch today so we could get some pictures of Mara in one of her Halloween outfits. We also took my 20-week pregnancy pictures. You can definitely tell the baby has grown a lot.
