Day of Changes

I know that it has been a long time since I've updated my blog for various reasons, so I thought that I would go ahead and skip to present time instead of letting the gap grow larger. ☺ I plan on going back and filling in the holes eventually.

Today was a day of change for us. Mara started third grade, Jack moved up to the Pre-K1 class, and I went to work in our brand new building for the first time today. It was a lot of change all at once, but it seemed to go well (despite how Jack looks in his first picture).

Getting in the Holiday Spirit

Monday, November 26

I finally broke down and upgraded my phone to a smartphone. Between work and volunteering for both Girl Scouts and Mara's school, I kept finding myself needing access to email or the Internet when I was out. Now, I just need to find a case to keep it safe.

Tuesday, November 27

I really wanted to watch a Christmas show with the kids tonight and was pleasantly surprised to find How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Shrek the Halls on TV tonight.

Wednesday, November 28

Since it's trying to be cold here, I thought potato soup sounded good for dinner tonight. We even made bread bowls out of french bread dough.

Thursday, November 29

Jack was being his silly little self before going to sleep. He kept wanting me to take pictures of him with my new phone.

Friday, November 30

The kids love playing Angry Birds, and both of them wore their new Angry Birds PJs to bed tonight.

Saturday, December 1

Tonight was my work's holiday party, so John and I dressed up, left the kids with my sister and dad, and went out to enjoy ourselves.

Sunday, December 2

Our elf, Fish, showed up for his annual visit today. He'll be here until Christmas Eve keeping an eye on the kids for Santa.

Monday, November 19

At work, my department had a potluck "graze" today. I brought buffalo chicken dip and apple pie drink to share with everyone.

Tuesday, November 20

Jack made a Thanksgiving hat at school this week, and he proudly showed it off to us at home.

Wednesday, November 21

With the weather getting colder, the kitties are starting to snuggle more. We came home today to find Doxy and Puck cuddled up together on our bed.

Going Shopping

Since we're taking our family pictures this weekend, I scheduled a haircut for today.

Wednesday, November 7

I love all of the colors that are out right now on the trees, and I get to pass by a beautiful set of trees on my way to work each day.

Thursday, November 8

I found a great local place to find OSU merchandise, so we went to Rally House tonight to use our coupon. The kids got to color pictures of Pistol Pete, and Jack found a hat that he wanted in his favorite color – orange.

Friday, November 9

Our church hosted its annual International Gift Market tonight. Jack liked trying out all of the musical instruments they had there – especially the drums.

Today was the open house at John's school, so I took the kids to see him there. Mara insisted on playing with the Van De Graaff machine again.

Monday, July 23

When we toured the World of Coke in Atlanta, we each got a special bottle of Coke. Mara has been begging us to let her drink hers, and we finally broke down and let her have it tonight.

Jack's having a really rough time cutting his last two 2-year molars. He was so tired tonight that he had a hard time staying awake, and when he was awake, he just lounged around.

It's nice to see how much Mara and Jack love each other. While they do bicker and pick on each other, there are moments like this that just make your heart melt.

We celebrated John's dad and sister's birthday today. The kids had fun playing games on Mara's computer, and we all enjoyed working on a puzzle we got at the World of Coke and gave to John's dad. It was a nice, relaxing Saturday. Even Jack helped us with the puzzle.

Jack enjoyed an ice cream sandwich while we watched the Olympics.

Go 'Riders!

We went to the RoughRiders game with John's work tonight. Mara had been asking to go to a game so she could see the fireworks (they have them every Friday home game), so she was ecstatic about tonight's game.  We even got free hats and fans that show LED messages.
