Jack – 9 months

Jack is now only three months away from his first birthday. He likes real food and refuses to eat baby food anymore. He tries pretty much everything we eat, and there really isn't anything he doesn't like yet. He especially liked trying all of the foods that we had at Thanksgiving, and I'm sure he'll be just as happy at Christmas.

Jack is very active. He wants to be on the floor doing his own thing rather than in someone's lap. He still loves to cuddle, though, when he's ready to go to sleep. He still doesn't crawl on hands and knees, and I'm beginning to think he's not going to. He's content with doing his own version of the army crawl. He has been working on pulling up on me. He could start trying to stand and walk at any time, or it could be a few months still. I hope it's still a few months away because I'm not ready to chase two kids around.

He loves to babble and blow raspberries. He's started doing this really high-pitched squeal, and sometimes it's hard to tell if it's him or Mara making the noise. He also says, "Ah!" really loud trying to get people to respond to him. He still only has two teeth but has been working on getting some more in.

When he was born, Mara gave him some cloths like the ones she loves. Jack is starting to show the same affection to the cloths, and he even prefers we thread one through his pacifier instead of using a tether.
