May flowers

Monday, May 9

Jack loves to give hugs. Most of the time when John is holding him, he'll reach his arms out to me for a hug. He'll even say "hug" while hugging me. Jack was giving John hugs tonight for a change.

You can tell that summer is just around the corner when ice cream starts being on sale almost every week. Mara asked for chocolate ice cream for dessert tonight, and we found a store that had some on sale. We had to try the new flavor anyway. :)

Wednesday, May 11

See Wednesday's post here.

Thursday, May 12

Mara and I planted some of her flowers last week, and they have really taken off. The zinnias (pink pot) started sprouting just four days after we planted them.

Friday, May 13

John had a interview this afternoon, so I worked from home even after John came back. It was so nice outside, I did some of my work in our backyard while John pushed the kids on the swing.

We met Shari and David for lunch today to celebrate Allie's third birthday. Jack discovered the cow on the door and picked up a new word – Moo. Afterward, we visited John's parents where Jack showed us his mastery at going up and down the stairs.

Sunday, May 15

We went to Cabela's for the first time today, and the kids were fascinated by the fish. We also discovered a neat backpack carrier that Jack loved, and we might just get it once John gets another job.
