I was looking forward to my maternity leave because I thought I'd get a chance to just stay home and get things done around the house, but it seems like we've been even busier than usual, including this week. At least that translates to lots of pictures. :) We capped off the week by celebrating my dad's 75th birthday and Easter.
Monday, March 29
We took Mara and Jack to Penney's to get their newborn/5-year/sibling/Easter pictures taken. The both cooperated really well, and we got some great pictures.
Tuesday, March 30
We put bird food right outside our side door, and the cats love to watch the birds. Tonight, a cardinal kept Pixie entranced.
Wednesday, March 31
Jack took his first bottle of formula today. Later, Mara surprised us by insisting she get a picture taken with the Easter bunny. I didn't have any problem getting her up next to the bunny, and she wanted to hold Jack for the picture.
Thursday, April 1
Mara's class had an Easter party at school today. They had an egg hunt, and the Easter bunny also made an appearance. Mara wasn't as sure of the bunny today and wouldn't get as close to him as she did last night.
Friday, April 2
We went to Lenny's house tonight to color Easter eggs. Mara got to color two dozen – one for her and one for Jack. She had a lot of fun coloring them.
Saturday, April 3
Today was a day for birthday parties. Mara went to a party for her friend Logan in the morning, and then we celebrated my dad's 75th birthday that evening. Mara made Granddad a card that said I love you with an eye, a heart, and a person's hands making the "u." We even got a picture of my dad with all of the grandkids (minus Robert who is in training for the Navy).
Sunday, April 4
We had a good Easter – celebrating Jack's first one with filled baskets, egg hunts, and dinner with family. It would have been better if we could have made it to church, but we still haven't gotten on a schedule since Jack was born.
