Counting down the days until Christmas

Tuesday, December 8

Sometimes it's nice to just cuddle on the couch and watch TV, so that's what we did tonight. It was even nicer to have my daughter and her kitty cuddling with me.

Wednesday, December 9

We finally started wrapping our pile of presents, and Mara was very eager to help. Besides getting tape for me, she wanting to learn how to actually wrap presents now.

Thursday, December 10

John took the time today to put up our outside lights. We usually like to do a little more, but we have no clue where the time has gone this year. At least we have something out there, though.

Friday, December 11

Mara's favorite Chick-Fil-As are the ones with the cars on the playground. This was the first time we ever went to one that had a cheese car. If you look closely, you can see Mara peering out the back wheel.

Saturday, December 12

I made my first attempt at cutting Mara's hair this morning. It didn't turn out too badly considering she had a hard time sitting still for me. That afternoon, we watch Lori and Lani perform in a Christmas skating show.

Sunday, December 13

Tonight was the Christmas party for John's work. It was at an Italian restaurant in Allen, which turned out to be pretty good. Both Mara and I got our faces painted, and Mara used her imagination when asking for her designs since there wasn't a sign. She asked for red stars and a yellow ladybug. Later in the evening, they had drawings for prizes. Mara was very excited when her number was called for a $5 Chick-Fil-A gift card. She went running up to the table (no shyness at all) to get her prize. Then, it was all she could talk about for the rest of the night, and she keeps asking when we can go back to Chick-Fil-A. :)
