We spent the day with John's family as we went to Grandbury to see John's grandpa and take him and Viola their Christmas presents. It was a beautiful day, and the three cousins enjoyed playing outside. We haven't spent as much time as we should have and even wanted to with John's family in the past, but hopefully we'll get to see them more often this year.
Saturday, January 3
We usually wait until January 6 (Epiphany/Three Kings Day) to take down our decorations, but we decided to go ahead and take down our decorations today since John was off. Putting our decorations away is kind of sad – especially since Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I love having our decorations up. Even Mara and the kitties are upset that the tree is being taken down. Doxy even had to take a nap beside the ornaments before they were put away. :) Now, the decorations are going to be stored away for 10 1/2 months. I look forward to getting them out again next year.
