Hopefully this is it

Our crazy weekend spilled into the week as we had several more unforeseen events happen. Hopefully this will be it for a while.

Monday, October 12

We went to visit my dad tonight and then stopped at Chick-Fil-A for dinner. Mara had fun out on the playground and insisted on posing on the slide.

Tuesday, October 13

Mara woke up in the middle of the night with a 102+ temperature, so we got her in to the doctor first thing in the morning, which worked out since my dad was being discharged that day. Since she had a fever, she had to wear a mask around the office. It was too early in the illness to test for the flu, so the doctor just noted that she had a virus with "flu-like" symptoms. The good thing is that people usually feel the worst at the beginning of the flu, but Mara acted just fine despite her body telling us otherwise.

Wednesday, October 14

We went ahead and gave Mara a Snow White baking set for being so good at the hospital and while being sick. (Does she look sick to you in this picture? She didn't get worse just as the doctor predicted.) She really wanted it, and we thought it would be a good reward for her since we already had it.

**Picture to come**

Mara went back to school today just in time to have her class and individual picture taken. We should get them back in a couple of weeks.

Friday, October 16

You can tell it's fall because all of the grackles and other birds are starting to line the buildings and power lines around here.

Saturday, October 17

Today was a very busy day for us. We had five things scheduled for today and ended up having to drop my company's fall festival simply because of logistics. We started off the day taking Mara to build a LEGO pumpkin at Wal-Mart, and she was able to put it together by herself with just a little help from us. This is the last time they're doing it at Wal-Mart, but I've heard they might have one at Toys R Us next month. Then, I headed to the baby shower for PJ and Precious (she's due Friday) while Mara went to her friend Kyle's birthday party. Even though the birthday party was at an inflatable play place, Mara preferred driving the car and then playing Simon Says. Afterward, we went to Shari and David's for dinner and to watch OSU's homecoming game. It was a good but tiring day.

Sunday, October 18

We had beautiful weather this weekend, and we took advantage of it by walking to the park while Mara rode her bike. Mara loves to play on the swings. She still needs to be pushed, but she has pretty good control. She likes to lean back and look upside-down.
