Mara's Day

We got some of our stuff done this week (not nearly as much as I had hoped, though), but we decided that Wednesday was a day for Mara. She went a whole week of pooping in the potty, so we kept her out of school and took her to a pumpkin patch and bowling.

We went to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch and wandered around there for a little bit. While there, Mara picked out some pumpkins for ourselves and for John's sister, Kendra. She also got to pet a horse, wander around a hay bale maze, and play on some of the wooden vehicles they had. (You can tell that Mara's upper lip is still swollen in some of these pictures,)









For lunch, we joined Kendra and her son, Josh, who is only six months or so older than Mara, and then all five of us went bowling at Main Event. We got the lane for an hour, and we didn't even get to finish one game since it would take so long for Mara and Josh's turns. Mara started to get bored partway through the game because she couldn't use the little "ramp" to roll her ball down the lane. (The guy told us it was only for handicapped people.) So, Mara not only got to bowl by pushing the ball down the lane with her hands, she also bowled by pushing the ball with her feet and her bottom. I threatened to use her head and couple of times (and she was all for it), but I didn't want to hurt her mouth again. :)



Kendra had to go pick up Hannah from from school, so Josh stayed with us at Main Event to play a few games. They really liked the horse race game even though we didn't spend a dime on it. :)



By the time we were done, it was starting to drizzle a little bit, so Mara shared her Thomas umbrella with Josh.


Both Mara and Josh had a good time playing together, and Mara even got to play with Hannah some as well. I'm glad that Kendra and her kids were able to join us for the day.
