Shark Girl

The Dallas Museum of Nature & Science had a special shark exhibit called Planet Shark that was only there for another week, so we decided to go visit and see what it was. The kids had a lot of fun with the hands-on exhibits, like the bubbles and the weather machines.

We watched a shark dissection. Before they dissected it, the presenter asked a lot of questions to the crowd. Mara's hand went up almost every single time, and a lot of the times, she was right. When he asked how many people had heard of the cookie cutter shark before, of course Mara raised her hand (thanks to Octonauts), and he said, "Of course you do shark girl." When we were touring the Planet Shark exhbit later, we kept running into the presenter, and he and Mara had a lot of conversations about sharks and sea creatures in general. We found out that the Planet Shark exhibit was making only two stops in the U.S. – here and Georgia Aquarium. We also found out that this was one of the last weekends to go to the museum at its current location in Fair Park before it closed for a few months to move to a new building closer to downtown.

Yes, Megladon's mouth was really that big. Of course, Mara was standing a couple of feet behind it.
