From the mouth of Mara

It's been a while since I've posted some of Mara's sayings, and she's had some gems recently and several more not so recently. :)

It was one of the wettest Octobers on record, but we did have a few clear days. When the clouds started to burn off one day, Mara saw the patch of blue sky and said, "Look! I see real sky!"

For a while, she was calling chihuahuas "chi-wow-wows."

We took her to a regular 2-D movie, and she asked us, "This isn't the movie where things will come out at me, is it?"

A blimp is an "airplane submarine."

She went through a phase where she would tell me, "Mommy, you're making my head hurt." Luckily she's grown out of that. :)

Mara told us one day that some trees beside the road looked like broccoli.

Pregnancy has messed with my sinuses, and one afternoon when I was napping, she told John that I was "snorking" (snoring).

Occasionally, she'll call chimpanzees "chicken-zees," but she's gotten much better at using the real name.

If we're questioning her too much on how her day went or if she's getting frustrated, she'll tell us, "You're freaking me out!"

Any time she wants to give us a compliment, she says, "You're a genius!"

We had the hardest time convincing her that fall begins in September. She would always counter, "It's not fall yet because the trees are still green." However, we're starting to see some really pretty fall colors over the past few weeks, so there's no doubt in her mind that it's finally here. Now, how are we going to convince her it's winter when there's no snow because she says it will snow as soon as it's winter?
